Abstract

It is essential for an organization to benefit from all its resources in order to exist and increase its efficiency and productivity. The human resource which distinguishes from other resources has many great characteristics when compared with the others. Because human resources play an important role in areas such as innovation for an organization in terms of providing it with sustainable competitive superiority. For this reason it is vital for an organization to determine the life satisfaction level of the employees and try to increase it. Within this context the aim of this study is to examine the relation between the life satisfaction and performance of employees in organizations. Firstly, the concepts of life satisfaction and performance are cleared. Then, the relationship between life satisfaction and performance with the demographic variables has been analyzed. Lastly, the relationship between life satisfaction and the performance has been examined. The study has been carried out with the 104 academicians at Adıyaman University. Considering the findings of the study there is not a relationship between demographic variables and life satisfaction. However, a positive relationship between life satisfaction and the work performance has been observed.
