Abstract

Microcredit, one of the struggle strategies with poverty, is a lending method including the low-income women that doesn’t require any guarantee and conform to the norms applied by commercial banks. In this study, it is aimed to identify the success of microcredit by analyzing the changings in the economic conditions of people after using this credit. The findings of the study obtained from the survey that was applied to the 122 members of Turkey Grameen Microfinance Program (TGMP) in Erzurum shows that microcredit increases the income level of these members. According to the results of the study, microcredit has provided women, being unable to work due to lack of capital, to join life of economic. Additionally it has been seen that their self-confidence of these women increased after beginning to earn money.
