Abstract

The organizational culture that emerges from norms, values and practices directs employees’ behaviors directly or indirectly. Individuals, with a tendency to act according to the structure, intend to comply with non-written rules through the drivers of social acceptance and appreciation. For this reason, it is expected that the individuals who find the working environment close to their personal values to be more successful. Because the harmony in individual and organizational roles will make the employees express and communicate effectively and more easily. Organizational culture which includes involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission dimensions can be effective in the behavior of the individual and therefore in organizational outcomes. The questionnaire was conducted in a town municipality with the aim of investigating whether the effect of the organizational culture on the performance of the employees obtained from 129 participants. Organizational culture is analyzed with 36 terms in 4 sub-dimensions as involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission, while employee performance is analyzed with 6 terms. According to the data obtained from 83 male and 46 female participants, there is a correlation between organizational culture and employee performance in medium correlation (r: 0,559) with 99% significant. Moreover, according to the results of regression analysis, organizational culture significantly predicts performance positively (Adjusment R2: 0,313; F: 14,096; p: 0,000). There are no significant differences in the means of the organizational culture in terms of demographic factors, while performance has a significant difference according to the gender.
