Abstract

Despite all the negativity, the tourism movements around the world continue to increase steadily and decisively. This situation has moved tourism sector to the first place among all the service sector in the world in terms of creating economic value. This emerging economic magnitude is of significance in the context of destinations at the local level. As a touristic destination, Elazığ province does not have a satisfactory position in terms of competition altough it has assets with touristic value. In order to be able to create some convictions on the reasons for this situation, in Elazığ province, a questionnaire study has been carried out on the stakeholders organizations of tourism, municipality managers administrators of Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, tourism, business and public administration academicians of Fırat University and private sector business managers. The data obtained through questionnaires were subjected to Anova and T tests with SPSS program. In the last part of the study, the results and appropriate suggestions are listed
