Abstract

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the health care demand structure of Turkey and OECD countries and the changes in supply structure accordingly. This study focuses on variables that are both supply and demand factors. The data used in the study were determined by literature review. In the analysis of the data, multiple regression analysis and basic component analysis were used. As a result of the analysis of the data, income per capita affects immunization and per capita health expenditures. Expectations and demand will expand as the level of income increases in Turkey as it is in developed countries. Accordingly, it can be said that the positive developments at the level of income will positively affect health spending and therefore other indicators. The number of discharge was found to be influenced by technological diffusion and the number of hospitals. Another important finding is that perceived health status affects per capita health expenditure and hospital bed (R2 = 797). Finally, it is determined that the only variable affecting the result of a single demand scoring analysis of all demand variables is the number of hospitals (R2=,797, p=000). According to this, one of the most basic characteristics of the supply of health services is that the rule of "every supply creates its own demand" also works in this work.
