Writing Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to JAVStudies must adhere to the writing guidelines provided by the journal. Articles that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to the authors for revision and re-upload.
Additionally, abstracts and texts written in non-native languages must undergo professional proofreading before submission to ensure clarity and accuracy.
For detailed information on the writing guidelines, please refer to the Writing Guidelines section.

Article Submission

Authors who wish to submit their manuscripts to JAVStudies must first register and upload their articles via javstudies.com. Once a manuscript is uploaded to the JAVStudies system, it is officially considered submitted, and the evaluation process begins.
All stages of the publication process—from submission to final publication—are conducted entirely online. For detailed instructions on registration and manuscript submission, please refer to the Submission Guide.

Preliminary Evaluation

Articles submitted to the JAVStudies system undergo an initial evaluation by the editor-in-chief or field editors to ensure compliance with the journal's publication principles and writing guidelines. Articles that require revisions will be returned to the author for modification. Manuscripts that fail to meet the required standards are not forwarded to reviewers and will be returned for further revisions.

Peer Assignment

Once an article meets the journal's publication principles, writing guidelines, scope, and ethical standards, it is assigned to at least two expert reviewers. Reviewers are selected from a database of qualified experts maintained by the journal. Authors may suggest potential reviewers from their field of study; however, these reviewers must be registered with JAVStudies and have opted to serve as reviewers during the registration process. If the suggestions align with the journal's ethical standards, the editor may assign these reviewers to the article. Each reviewer is allotted a maximum of 15 days to submit their evaluation. If no report is received within this period, a new reviewer will be assigned, or additional time will be granted.

Double-Blind Peer Review Policy

JAVStudies follows a double-blind peer review policy, ensuring confidentiality for both reviewers and authors. Manuscripts must be submitted anonymously, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. Even if authors suggest reviewers, the identities of the assigned reviewers remain confidential.
Peer review is an essential process for ensuring the quality of academic work. During this phase, experts evaluate the manuscript in terms of writing quality, technical accuracy, documentation, and its contribution to the field. Feedback from reviewers is used to enhance the quality of the manuscript. Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

•    Accept
•    Major revision (requiring re-evaluation after revisions)
•    Minor revision (leading to immediate acceptance)
•    Reject

If two reviewers recommend acceptance, the article is accepted for publication. If one reviewer recommends acceptance and the other recommends rejection, the article is sent to a third reviewer. The final decision is based on the third reviewer’s evaluation. Articles that receive two rejection decisions will not be published.

For detailed information on peer review, please see the Double-Blind Peer Review Policy page.

Appeal Process

Authors may appeal reviewer decisions if they believe there are compelling reasons. Appeals will be evaluated by the editorial team, and if deemed necessary, additional reviewers may be consulted.

Publication

The final publication decision is made by the editorial board, based on the evaluations provided by the reviewers. The editors ensure a careful review of all peer assessments before making the final decision.

Process Tracking

Authors can monitor the status of their manuscript through their membership accounts on the JAVStudies platform.
