For Reviewers

JAVStudies follows a double-blind peer review policy that ensures confidentiality for both reviewers and authors. Manuscripts must be submitted anonymously, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. Even if authors suggest reviewers, the identity of the appointed reviewers remains confidential.
Peer review is an important process to ensure the quality of academic work. At this stage, experts evaluate the manuscript for writing quality, technical accuracy, documentation, and contribution to the field. Feedback from the reviewers is used to improve the quality of the manuscript. The reviewers make one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept (Publishable)
  • Minor revision (can be published after revision without the need for a new evaluation)
  • Major revision (revisions require reevaluation by the reviewer requesting revision)
  • Reject (Unpublishable)

If two referees agree, the article is transferred to the section to be published. If one reviewer agrees and the other rejects the manuscript, it is sent to a third reviewer. The final decision is made according to the third reviewer's evaluation. Articles rejected by two reviewers are not published.

If the editor considers the reasons for the rejection of one referee to be important, he/she may decide to reject the article without the need for a second referee's evaluation.

In cases where an article is accepted with a major revision, the author must upload the revised version to the system via the website within one month. If the author does not accept the revision or does not upload it to the system within the specified period, the article will be out of evaluation or rejected.

Referee evaluations are carefully controlled by the editors. For example, if the referee marks all the evaluation questions as “sufficient” and selects the “accept” option, the editors do not accept the evaluation; either a new referee is assigned or the referee is asked to re-evaluate the manuscript.

Referees are not directed or influenced by the editorial office regarding the manuscript, nor are they given an opinion on the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript, and no judgment is made about the evaluation made in accordance with ethical and technical rules.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the reviewers for their valuable time and kindness in reviewing the manuscripts and for their contribution to JAVStudies and the scientific literature.
