Abstract
Bu çalışmada sağlık turizminin, turizm sektörü ve ülke ekonomilerindeki yeri incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı medikal turizmin Türkiye’deki mevcut durumunu analiz etmektir. Bu doğrultuda sağlık turistleri ve sağlık sektöründe çalışan profesyoneller ile çift yönlü derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler tematik içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda medikal turizm alanında ülkemizin güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın önemi, konuyu sadece sağlık turistleri ya da sağlık çalışanları açısından tek yönlü bir bakış açısı ile sunmak yerine, hepsini kapsayıcı bir perspektiften ele almaya çalışmasıdır. Elde edilen bulgular ile sağlık sektöründe çok büyük potansiyeli bulunan ülkemizin mevcut durumu analiz edilmiş ve böylece Türkiye’de medikal turizmin gelişmesine katkı sağlayacak öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract
The effect of health tourism on the tourism sector and country economics is studied in the article. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the existing situation of medical tourism in Turkey. Accordingly, it is taken in two sided interviews with health tourists and professionals working in the healthcare sector. The findings of interviews are exposed through thematic content analysis. Strong and weak features of Turkey in medical tourism are identified as the result of the study. The importance of this study is to cover all counterparts instead of health tourists or professionals working in the healthcare sector alone. Existing situation of the Country having significant potential in healthcare sector is analyzed with the findings and some contributed recommendations are given for the development of medical tourism of Turkey.
