Abstract
İslam coğrafyasında on sekizinci yüzyılın sonlarında, iç ve dış nedenlerle askeri alanda başlayan modernleşme hareketleri, on dokuzuncu yüzyılla birlikte bir ivme kazanmıştır. Bu dönemde yaşanan değişim ve dönüşüm tek bir alanla sınırlı kalmayıp, toplumsal, ekonomik ve siyasal alanları içeren daha kapsamlı bir hal almıştır. Osmanlı modernleşmesinin etkileri zihinsel alana yansıyarak muhalif bir aydınlar grubu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Aynı dönemde Rusya’da Müslümanların içinde bulundukları durum Ceditçilerin ortaya çıkmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu çalışmada tarihsel karşılaştırmalı yöntemle Jön Türkler ve Ceditçilik hareketlerinin benzerlik ve farklılıkları birincil ve ikincil kaynaklar üzerinden incelenmektedir. Karşılaştırma unsuru olarak bu hareketlerin siyasal hedefleri, din algıları, toplumsal ve entelektüel kökenleri ele alınmaktadır.

Abstract
Modernization movements within the military that started due to both internal and external reasons in the late 18th century, gained a momentum in the 19th century, in the Islamic geography. The change and transformation experienced in this period was not limited to a single area, but became more comprehensive including social, economic and political area. The effect of the Ottoman modernization reflected on the intellectual area and led to the formation of an opposing intellectual group. During the same period, the situation Muslims were facing in Russia pave the way for the emergence of Jadidists. In this study, the similarities and differences of the Young Turks and the Jadidism movements are examined through primary and secondary sources with historical comparative method. As an element of comparison, the political objectives, religious perceptions, social and intellectual origins of these movements are discussed.
