Abstract

The dictionary literally means ritual, as a traditional ceremony. Rituals; past, present and future time it enhances the individual's sense of solidarity and socialization, thus enabling them to transfer their feelings of unity and solidarity in society to the end. Political rituals are the rituals that give the common code and meaning to the public through the symbols on which they act. Political rituals serve to provide road maps with symbols by creating political symbols and mental fictions and reorganizing people. The Ottoman State is a very rich state in terms of rituals. In the Ottoman Empire, the actions of the sultan's descent from the throne, the appearance of the foreign soldiers in front of the sultan, the death of the sultans, the separation of the sultans and the sultans were known with various ceremonies. Ceremonies; symbols, demonstrations, protocol rules, etc. where the forces designed according to the elements are staged. In this study, the important ceremonies of the Ottoman Empire will be mentioned in the ceremonies of Kılıç Kuşanma, Culus and Biat, the Ambassador's Cabinet, Cuma Selamlığı and Surre Regiments.
