Abstract

The Black Sea Region, which is a bridge between the Caucasus and the Balkans, a priority area of our foreign policy, has been consistently high in importance for the surrounding countries as it has been in daily history. The international interest in the Black Sea Region, which we are a part of, is constantly increasing. The port operations, which constitute the most important infrastructure of foreign trade, have developed very fast over the last half century. It is clear how important the ports are when considering that around 90% of international trade in the world and our country is carried out by sea. The development of the transport of the Euro-Caucasus-Asian Corridor on International Transport In the framework of the Basic Multilateral Agreement, one of the key aims of the TRACECA(International Transport for Development of the Europe - the Caucasus - Asia Corridor) transport corridor is to increase the competitiveness of maritime transport and the importance of uninterrupted freight flow, especially in the maritime area. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway project to be operational in 2017 and the world's second largest economy, China's Modern Silk Road project, Turkey's Far East with the implementation, the Caucasus, would be a major hub between Central Asia and Europe is very obvious. Turkey will assume a role here, the east and the Black Sea region and will become available in the logistics center will create more meaningful. Turkey is an extremely important country in freight. In particular, its strategic and geopolitical position is of great importance in the context of the rapid movement of services and information required by globalization. When considering the potential of the Black Sea region, Ports of Black Sea role and importance for Turkey’s Maritime Policy.
