Abstract

In Turkey, there are 185 universities, 112 of which are state, 67 are foundation universities and 5 are foundation vocational colleges and they have an important place in the public service sector. In this study, the relationship between job performance and emotional commitment of the administrative staff working at the university is examined. Moreover, it has been determined whether the employees' job performance and emotional commitment have changed according to their demographic characteristics. In the study, the data obtained from the questionnaire form was used from a total of 321 administrative staff working at 3 State Universities. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a statistically significant and positive relationship between findings job performance and emotional commitment. Independent groups t test results that the emotional dependence of employees varies according to their working status. Variance analysis also showed that employees' job performance and emotional commitment changed depending on the employee's level of education, salary levels, service classes, statutes, and units he or she worked in.
